A Typical Day

No days at the E will be “typical”.  On any given day, you may participate in a noontime outdoor concert in the breezeway, be involved in a community service field trip to someplace such as the Boys and Girls Clubs, visit a retirement center with the Biava for an informance...who knows what may come up!
Of course, there will be a schedule; and, although it will differ between ensembles and instrument groups,  Monday through Saturday your day could look something like this:

•   9:30 Cello Choir
• 10:30  Quartet Coaching
• 11:30  Individual Practice
• 12:30  LUNCH
•   2:00 Masterclass
•   3:00 Quartet Rehearsal
•   4:00 Musicianship
•   5:00 Free Time
•   6:00 Dinner
•   7:00 Evening Activity*
• 10:00  Curfew
  

Evening activities will vary from day to day.  We’ll be going to the Rock Cats the Saturday you arrive.  On Wednesday night, we’ll be attending the Biava’s concert.  Our final concert will be the night of Saturday, August 8.  Other nights could see us going Duckpin Bowling, having a movie night, swimming, having a picnic at a jazz concert in a park, or even just hanging out at Hawk Hall, our home away from home.

The beginning of our time together will have some specialized scheduling.  Our tentative plan for the first two days follows; of course, the final schedule will be mailed to you before your arrival in Hartford:

Saturday, August 1
12:00  Arrive, check-in and receive packets and room keys
  1:00 Orchestra
  2:00 Performance Rehearsal
  3:30 Orientation and pizza
  5:00 Depart UHart for Rock Cats game
10:00  Curfew

Sunday, August 2
  8:30 Orchestra
10:30  Biava read-through of pieces to be studied
12:30  Lunch
  2:00 Ensemble Rehearsals/Coachings
  4:00 Individual Practice
  5:00 Free Time
